Customer Service - Assistant Manager/Manager/Senior Manager
Role Purpose - Clearing House (CH) is a division within the exchange or a separate entity attached to an responsible for settling trading accounts, clearing trades, collecting and maintaining margin monies, regulating delivery and reporting trading data. Clearing house acts a counter party for all trades executed on the exchange platform i.e. as a buyer to every seller clearing member and a seller to every buyer clearing member. All members of an exchange are required to clear their trades through the clearing house at the end of each trading session and to deposit with the clearing house a sum of money (based on clearing house margin requirements) sufficient to cover the member's debit balance.
Description - CH is responsible for collection, maintenance and release of all types of collaterals from the members against which the Risk group sets their exposure limits
The job responsibilities mainly include the following
- Empanelment of clearing banks, depository participants (DPs), custodians (for securities/commodities as collaterals)
- Reporting and monitoring of collateral deposit levels for each clearing member on a real time basis
- Acceptance/release of collaterals/margin money from the clearing members
- Monitoring of margin utilization, giving margin calls to clearing members; follow up with the clearing members, clearing banks, custodians etc.
- Continuous interaction with the market watch for reporting of settlement failure, instructions for activating /de-activating clearing members for payment defaults etc.
Specifications
Experience - 3-6 years in similar/exchange market environment
Age - 23-30 years
Gender - Any
Formal Qualifications - Graduate (Any stream)
Technical Competencies/Skills
- Knowledge of working of the futures market environment and trading set up is essential
- Knowledge of exchange settlement procedure and systems in the exchange environment
- Knowledge of banking operations including inter-bank transactions processes
- Working knowledge of depository system environment as well as depository working procedures
- Basic knowledge of accounting and finance
- Basic knowledge of collateral accounting – acceptance, release, pledge and de-pledge of securities
- Basic knowledge of legal process is preferred as the person need to go thru the legal documents such as pledge deed, bank guarantee documents etc.
- Expertise in MS-Excel or other spread sheet based applications including advanced modules such as matrix generation, linking of different sets of data etc.
- Knowledge of commodity market environment in general
Special Remarks The clearing house is expected to function from morning till the end of the trading hours and EOD process. Therefore it is expected to work in shifts.
