The client is KPMG and the role is of Associate Director – (9-12 yrs), please find the credentials as below.

I have an opening with KPMG for Manager/Associate Director with a Financial Service background to be based in Mumbai for Accounting Advisory Services (Advisory – Risk Consulting).

The candidates key FS responsibilities in addition to the normal managerial responsibilities would be:

- To interact with FS clients – banks and insurance clients on key IFRS requirements

- Work on IFRS conversion engagements for banks and insurance clients

- Assist in the development of the FS practice in Mumbai working closely with the Partner/Director group

- Assist in Financial Instruments Accounting, Hedge Accounting

The candidate should have the following experience:

- IFRS FS experience with either banks or insurance companies

- Technical experience in financial instruments

- Statutory Audit Background (Must)

- Financial Services or IFRS related experience

- Qualified CA

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES -

- Independently manage IFRS / US GAAP and other accounting engagements

- Deliver GAAP convergence engagements involving planning, co-ordination and team management

- Provide IFRS trainings to clients

- Support transaction advisory teams in due diligence processes and identification of GAAP related matters

- Lead engagement teams on other accounting advisory assignments

- During the course of your work, you will be expected be a people leader for your Department/Location and to also manage a team in terms of staffing, appraisals, etc

- Reporting to the Director / Partner on all location related matters

- Coordinating in developing the practice (clients, people and technical skills)

- Manage the profitability of the engagements and location

- Independently handle practice initiatives

- Apply KPMGs IFRS methodologies in servicing clients on IFRS convergence engagements

- Coordinating with other practices at KPMG in identifying opportunities

- To be up to date with developments on regulatory and accounting matters

- To participate in the firm‟s thought leadership initiatives

- Lead client proposals and actively work towards estimating time costs and responding to client proposals

THE INDIVIDUAL -

- Strong communication / Interpersonal skills

- Ability to work in dynamic environment

- Client relationship management

- Very strong accounting knowledge and skills

- Experience working with or serving financial services organizations (Banks, NBFCs, Insurance companies and funds)

- Experience working on transaction structuring and providing accounting advice on transactions

- Strong understanding of product pricing, valuation and experience in applying and advising on the application of hedge accounting

- Experience and skills required to deliver strong and impressive presentations internally and externally

- Demonstrated business development skills and experience

- Up to date knowledge of regulations affecting in the Indian financial services industry

- Professionals with industry experience in all sectors and experience on IFRS, US GAAP, accounting advisory, training, audit, due diligence and securities offering assignments in India / abroad

QUALIFICATION -

- Qualified Chartered Accountants / CPA / ACCA

- 8+ years of experience
