DESIGNATION – Assistant Vice President / Vice President
ROLE – Commodities Operations
LOCATION: Mumbai
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a Transaction processing team across various commodities trading operations including agri, precious metals, export-import related documentation, banking and exchange transactions etc.
- Manage interface with control groups like Finance & Accounts, Compliance for the above operations
- Responsible for Business MIS and analytics for a commodities trading business unit
- Defining processes for new activities/projects and implementing them
- Evaluation and implementation of automation solutions for MIS, transaction processing, reconciliations
- Setting up transaction processing desk for new products/businesses and building linkages with MIS and control groups
- Putting processes in place for a counterparty reconciliations and internal reconciliations
- Defining authorization matrices for approval limits, exceptions and risk
- Partnering business team for designing and developing long-term operations planning
- Responsible for quality assurance and process compliance across products, activities and functions within the Operations team
EXPERIENCE
- 8+ yrs – pref exp across Bullion & Agri products, derivative operations, MIS and transaction processing backend implementation, understanding of accounting and financial instruments
SKILL REQUIREMENT
- Experience in financial services with relevant experience in both physical and financial commodity operations.
- Strong people management skills and experience
- Good partnership skills to be able to work well with Front Office and Infrastructure teams
- Good knowledge in commodity documentation
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Preferably a Chartered Accounting background with transaction processing, control and MIS experience in a transaction intensive environment with good understanding of indirect taxation, banking operations and commodities markets
